Who's behind this
A few Scottsdale locals. Some of us grew up here when Pima Road was a two-lane shrug and the 101 stopped making sense north of Shea. Some of us showed up for one winter and never left, which is how most people end up here. Between us we've lived in South Scottsdale ranch houses with shag carpet, rented a casita in McCormick Ranch, and spent an embarrassing number of Julys arguing about whether the pool counts as exercise.
We're not naming ourselves. That's not mystery for the sake of it. It just keeps the focus on the city, and it keeps anyone from thinking we have a favorite taco spot because someone bought us lunch.
Why this site exists
Search for anything stoner-related in Scottsdale and you get two kinds of results: resort ads and lists written by someone who has never seen a haboob. Nobody was writing for the people who actually live here. The person who wants to know where to get a real Sonoran dog without driving to Tucson. The person who just moved to Grayhawk and is wondering if it's always this quiet. The person who needs to know whether the HOA is going to have an opinion about their backyard.
So we wrote it. Munchies by craving and by neighborhood, the movie theaters with the best recliners, the trails worth a sunrise, a plain-English take on where you can sesh in Scottsdale, and a guide to every part of town from the McDowell Road strip malls to the boulders past Pinnacle Peak.
How we keep it honest
No paid placements. Nobody can buy a spot on this site, a better sentence, or a nicer adjective. If a restaurant is on here, it's because one of us likes it.
No affiliate links. We don't make money when you click, book or buy anything. There's nothing to sell you, so we don't.
No ties to any business. No shop, resort, brand or restaurant owns, sponsors or pays this site. We don't list or rank dispensaries at all.
Real places only. We only name spots we've checked are open and operating. When we're not sure, we describe the kind of place instead of guessing. Places close, menus change, so if something is off, assume it changed after we wrote about it.
Adults only, and nobody drives high. Everything here is written for adults 21 and over. When a page involves getting somewhere, the answer is a rideshare, a sober friend or your own two feet.
Why there's no events calendar
On purpose. Event listings go stale the minute they're posted, and nothing is worse than driving across town for something that ended last spring. This site sticks to the stuff that stays true: the places, the neighborhoods, the seasons and the way Scottsdale actually works. For what's happening this week, you already know where to look.
